One year of Lineage 2 servers statistics (2025-2026)

It has been another busy year since l2foryou.eu started tracking Lineage 2 server data. In this second annual report, we are looking at all servers listed on l2foryou.eu from June 1, 2025 to June 1, 2026.
Totals
During this period, l2foryou.eu recorded 1,320 fresh Lineage 2 server openings. As in our previous reports, this includes only new starts and excludes bonus starts, merges, and content updates. OBT servers are also excluded from our database, so the numbers reflect official live launches only.
Compared to the previous period (1,017 openings), this is a substantial increase. However, this jump is likely influenced not only by market activity, but also by improvements in our server discovery process. During this year we expanded and refined our source coverage, so some projects that previously slipped through tracking are now captured in our dataset. Another likely factor is that launching a server project has become easier than before: AI tools now help with setup, website creation, content preparation, and other operational tasks that used to require more time and specialized skills.
That equals roughly 3.6 new servers per day, or about 25 every week. In short, new openings were happening all year long.
By game version, the distribution was as follows:
| Category | Count |
|---|---|
| Lineage 2 | 1098 |
| Essence | 187 |
| Main(GOD) | 20 |
| Classic | 15 |
Even though the total number of openings increased significantly, the overall distribution by game version remained very similar to the previous year. Lineage 2 still dominates by a wide margin, Essence remains a clear second, and Main(GOD) and Classic continue to represent a much smaller share of launches.
This consistency suggests that while volume changed, player and admin preferences did not shift dramatically at the version level.
Rates
As before, we split fresh starts into three rate categories:
- Low up to x9
- Mid from x10 to x100
- High above x100 (101+)
Compared to last year, the distribution stayed broadly similar: Mid still leads, while High and Low remain close behind.
| Category | Count |
|---|---|
| Low | 317 |
| Mid | 539 |
| High | 464 |
Inside each game version, the rate profile is noticeably different.
For Lineage 2, launches are spread across all three categories, with a slight tilt toward high-rate projects. That points to a split market where some teams still build around longer progression, while many others optimize for faster turnover and shorter seasonal cycles.
For Essence, the picture is much tighter: launches are concentrated in low and mid rates, with little high-rate presence in this period.
In short, Lineage 2 is spread across all rate ranges, while Essence, Main(GOD), and Classic are mostly low/mid.
By version, the rate mix looked like this:
- Lineage 2 220
- Essence 78
- Classic 10
- Main(GOD) 9
- Lineage 2 415
- Essence 109
- Classic 5
- Main(GOD) 10
- Lineage 2 463
- Essence 0
- Classic 0
- Main(GOD) 1
| Rate category | Lineage 2 | Essence | Classic | Main(GOD) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Low | 220 | 78 | 10 | 9 |
| Mid | 415 | 109 | 5 | 10 |
| High | 463 | 0 | 0 | 1 |
Mods
Mods stayed consistent this year and are still a core part of most launches.
The top group remained stable: buffer, autoevents, and autofarm still define the default setup for a large part of the market. Compared to last year, this core stack became even more common, especially around autofarm-heavy launches.
Overall mod usage in fresh starts looked like this:
| Mod | Count | Percent |
|---|---|---|
| buffer | 823 | 62% |
| autoevents | 730 | 55% |
| autofarm | 634 | 48% |
| champs | 360 | 27% |
| multiprof | 135 | 10% |
| offlinefarm | 89 | 7% |
| staged | 73 | 6% |
| dynamic | 51 | 4% |
| nodual | 32 | 2% |
| gve | 17 | 1% |
| unreal | 1 | <1% |
Looking at mods by game version, the patterns differ clearly.
In Lineage 2, the ecosystem is broad: almost every major mod type appears at scale. This reinforces how experimental and feature-heavy the Lineage 2 segment has become.
In Essence, the profile is more concentrated around autofarm and offlinefarm, with lower presence of event-style and PvP-oriented additions. Essence effectively has autofarm by default, so this category is treated as universal and shown as 100%.
For Main(GOD) and Classic, autofarm is default only in specific chronicles/versions, and some listings do not mention it in the description. In our methodology, we mark a mod only when it is explicitly present in available project data, so reported autofarm shares can be below the practical in-game baseline.
Mod usage by game version looked like this:
- buffer 806 (73.4%)
- autoevents 680 (61.9%)
- autofarm 422 (38.4%)

Languages
As in previous periods, Russian is by far the most common language across fresh launches, while English stays firmly in second place. After that, the field becomes much more fragmented, with Ukrainian, Portuguese, and Spanish forming the next visible tier.
Language usage in fresh starts looked like this:
- Russian 1234 (93.5%)
- English 747 (56.6%)
- Ukrainian 185 (14.0%)
- Portuguese 129 (9.8%)
- Spanish 97 (7.3%)

Chronicles
For Lineage 2, Interlude remains overwhelmingly dominant, with High Five still the only remotely comparable alternative. Other chronicles exist, but at much smaller scale. That keeps the broader Lineage 2 market heavily anchored in a narrow historical band rather than spreading evenly across expansions.
For Essence, the picture is more fragmented. High Elves and Samurai Crow are almost tied at the top, followed by a visible drop to Warg and RoseVain. The main reason is that classic Lineage 2 chronicle choices are relatively stable and mostly taste-driven, while Essence receives active updates and private servers adapt to them. For example, last year Warg was the newest update in focus, and this year we also see RoseVain, Samurai Crow, and Echo of Elements in circulation.
The smaller Classic and Main(GOD) groups are more volatile because low counts can shift yearly rankings quickly, but even there the data still shows which update lines are currently getting attention.
Chronicle popularity in fresh starts looked like this:

New Projects
Launch volume was high this year, but most of it still came from older projects. Still, 221 projects had their first-ever tracked event during this period. Compared to 1,320 fresh server openings overall, that means about one in six launches came from truly new projects, while the rest belonged to returning brands, relaunches, or projects opening additional servers over time.
In Lineage 2 terms, most activity is not brand-new projects, but wipe cycles: established projects wiping and reopening again. To show that pattern directly, here are the projects with the highest number of fresh starts (wipes) in the selected period.
Wipers
- 1. l2valorun.fun with 18 openings
- 2-4. prime-world.net with 13 openings
- 2-4. ariawar.com with 13 openings
- 2-4. la2best.org with 13 openings
Note: This is the top 4 by wipe count (fresh starts) in the selected period. If one project opened multiple servers or configurations, they are summed into the same project. Only fresh starts are counted.
Reopen Timing
Next, we can look at wipe timing. Using only new events, each project is counted once by the gap to its next fresh start in the selected range:
- within 1 month: 81 projects
- in 1-3 months: 111 projects
- in 3-5 months: 38 projects
- after 5+ months or opened once: 211 projects
Note: reopen timing tracks returns of the same server identity. If a project opens an x1 server and later opens an x10 server, that is treated as a different server launch, not a reopen of the first one.
Not so serious statistics - Statistically Average Server
This is how a statistically average server in this period would look.
Quick Average Snapshot
- Lineage 2: x100 - Interlude - buffer + autoevents - ru + en
- Essence: x1 - Samurai Crow - autofarm + offlinefarm - ru + en
- Main(GOD): x1 - Wolf Waker - autofarm + buffer - en + ru + pt
- Classic: x3 - Secret of Empire - autofarm + buffer + autoevents - ru + en
How we calculate this:
- we count unique project records only
- if a project opened the same server multiple times in the year, it counts as one record
- then we build the profile from the most frequent traits
Below is the same profile broken down stat by stat.
Typical Rates (After De-duplication)
Using this method, the most frequent rates looked like this:
- Lineage 2: x100 (56 of 507 projects, 11.05%)
- Essence: x1 (19 of 75 projects, 25.33%)
- Main(GOD): x1 (3 of 16 projects, 18.75%)
- Classic: x3 (4 of 8 projects, 50.00%)
Typical Mod Set (After De-duplication)
To keep this realistic, we first estimate how many mods a typical project has, then fill that slot count with the most frequent mods.
- Lineage 2 (avg 2.16 mods, target 2): buffer (71.24%), autoevents (52.15%)
- Essence (avg 2.46 mods, target 2): autofarm (100.00%), offlinefarm (41.07%)
- Main(GOD) (avg 2.09 mods, target 2): autofarm (54.55%), buffer (45.45%)
- Classic (avg 3.29 mods, target 3): autofarm (85.71%), buffer (71.43%), autoevents (57.14%)
Typical Language Set (After De-duplication)
We calculate this the same way as mods: estimate average language count per project, round to a target slot count, then fill those slots with the most frequent languages.
- Lineage 2 (avg 1.90 languages, target 2): ru (85.22%), en (61.02%)
- Essence (avg 2.14 languages, target 2): ru (85.71%), en (83.93%)
- Main(GOD) (avg 3.45 languages, target 3): en (100.00%), ru (90.91%), pt (27.27%)
- Classic (avg 2.29 languages, target 2): ru (85.71%), en (71.43%)
Typical Chronicle (After De-duplication)
For chronicles, we apply the same unique-project rule and then take the most frequent chronicle in each group.
- Lineage 2: Interlude (257 of 387 projects, 66.41%)
- Essence: Samurai Crow (26 of 90 projects, 28.89%)
- Main(GOD): tie at 2 of 13 (15.38%) between Grand Crusade, Lindvior, Main(GOD), Wolf Waker
- Classic: Secret of Empire (5 of 7 projects, 71.43%)
